  The exploration & adventures of China cover Beijing to Hong Kong (People Republic of China). Our journey will start in Beijing, with 6 exciting days. Places to visit in Beijing will be Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City - home of Chinese Emperors for more than 500 years, and Temple of Heaven (Ming Dynasty architecture). Visit Lama Temple, Panda Zoo and the Summer Palace. Visit the Hutong, the old city neighborhoods (experience the life of ordinary people) of narrow alley ways and courtyard gardens hidden behind Beijing’s modern facade. Hike the Great Wall, (it is 2000 years old and the longest man-made object in the world ) a tour that will begins at Huangyaguan and ends at Jinshanling. From Beijing fly to Xian, home of the Terra Cotta Warriors (more than 6,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty). Our next stop will be Mt. Huashan, also called “The Great West Mountain”. In the past, it was one of China’s five sacred mountains. It is now one of the famous mountains as well as a very beautiful scenic spot of China. Visit the silkworn breeding factory. Study how the silk worm live, spin the silk and sprout silk.  Take an evening train to Shanghai. Visit The Jade Buddha Temple, famous for its large statue of the Buddha carved out of a single piece of white jade, and the Yu Garden in the old Shanghai area, filled with curio shops and souvenirs.  From Shanghai travel to Hangzhou and cruise at West Lake (Tang Dynasty) and visit the Daqinggu Park for amusement. Then travel to Guilin.  From this city Cruise along the beautiful Li River to Yangshuo. Experience the magical beauty of limestone rock formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings. Disembark at the charming village of Yangshuo, which has one of the best antique and craft markets in China. Bike for 2 hours to the Buddha Cave. You can take a mud bath if you like. From Guilin travel to Hong Kong.

 

ITINERARY

DAY 01: Flight from San Juan to Miami/Los Angeles (USA) and from Los Angeles to Beijing.

Day 02: Arrive Beijing.  Arrive in Beijing international airport and transfer to the Songhe Hotel 3* or similar accommodation.

Day 03: Beijing. Visit Tiananmen Square.  Then enter the Forbidden City - home of the Chinese Emperors for more than 500 years. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, one of the best examples of Ming Dynasty architecture in Beijing. Opera after the dinner.

Day 04: Beijing. Visit  Lama Temple, Panda Zoo and the Summer Palace where the Dowager Empress Ci Xi would go to escape the heat of the city.  Attend a welcome banquet featuring Beijing roast duck in the evening.

Day 05: Beijing.  Hutong tour to experience the life of ordinary people.  Free at leisure in the afternoon.

Day 06: Beijing. Great Wall hiking tour begins at Huangyaguan. Stay at Huangyaguan Guest House.

The highlight of today is the excursion to the Great Wall. The longest man-made object in the world, this 2,000-year-old landmark is an astonishing feat of engineering. Enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow valleys.

Day 07: Beijing. Great Wall hiking tour ends at Jinshanling. Stay at Jinshanling Great House.

Day 08: Beijing / Xian.  Back to the Beijing city. Take a flight to Xian. Stay at Xian Hotel 3* or similar accommodation.

Day 09: Xian.  Terra Cotta Warriors and horses and the Banpo Museum. Learn to make dumpling and have a dumpling dinner in the evening.

Today's highlight is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to more than 6,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty. After lunch, visit the Neolithic Village of Banpo which contains relics from the earliest known inhabitants of China.

Day 10: Xian / Huashan.  Visit a big Goose Pagoda and, an ancient city Wall in the morning. Coach to the mountain Huashan which is famous among the five of the Greatest Mountains for its dangerous peaks. Stay overnight at the foot of Mountain 3*.

Day 11: Huashan / Xian.  Take a cable car to the lowest peak – North Peak. Then a free choice to climb the peak. Back to Xian before dinner. Stay at Xina Hotel 3* or similar accommodation.

Mt Huashan, also called “The Great West Mountain” in the past, is one of China’s five sacred mountains. It is to the south of Huayin City, 120 km east of Xian City, Shaanxi Province with an elevation of 2200m. The mountain overlooks the Huanghe River and the Weishui River to the north and links with the Qinling Mountains to the south. Mt Huashan is the tallest among the five great mountains. It is one of the famous mountains as well as a very beautiful scenic spot of China.

Day 12: Xian / Suzhou. Visit the Provincial Museum. Take an overnight train to Suzhou.

Day 13: Suzhou.  Arrive in Suzhou at the noon time. Visit Humble Administrator’s garden and the Tiger Hill in the afternoon. Stay at Suzhou Hotel 4* or similar accommodation.

Day 14: Suzhou / Zhouzhuang / Tongli / Suzhou. One day tour to Zhouzhuang and Tongli to experience the local life of Chinese canal countryside. Back to Suzhou. 

Day 15: Suzhou / Shanghai.  Visit the silkworn breeding factory. Study how the silkworm live, spit the silk. Take an evening train to Shanghai. Stay at Merry Hotel or similar accommodation.

Day 16: Shanghai. Visit Yu Garden, Jade Buddha Temple and  Shanghai Museum.

The Jade Buddha Temple is famous for its large statue of the Buddha carved out of a single piece of white jade.

Yu Garden is in the neighborhood of the old Shanghai bazaar, filled with curio shops and souvenirs.

Day 17: Shanghai / Hangzhou. Free at leisure in the morning. Train to Hangzhou in the afternoon. Stay at Wu Yang Hotel 3* or similar accommodation.

Day 18: Hangzhou. Cruise at West Lake. Afternoon go to the Daqinggu park for amusement.

The famous West lake is like a brilliant pearl embedded in the beautiful and fertile shores of the East China Sea near the mouth of the Hangzhou Bay. It’s name, the West lake, originated during the Tang Dynasty from its lying to the west of Qiantang County. The lake is also named after Xi Shi, a famous ancient beauty, because of the apt comparison made between the two by the poet Su Dongpo.

Day 19: Hangzhou / Shanghai / Guilin. Train back to Shanghai and take flight to Guilin. Visit Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Cave in the afternoon. Stay at Guilin Plaza Hotel 3* or similar accommodation.

Day 20: Guilin / Yangshuo.  Li River cruise to Yangshuo. Bike for 2 hours to the Buddha cave. You can take a mud bath if you like. Stay at West Street Guest House.

Today's excursion is a cruise along the beautiful Li River. Experience the magical beauty of limestone rock formations and farmland commonly seen in Chinese landscape paintings. Disembark at the charming village of Yangshuo, which has one of the best antique and craft markets in China.

Day 21: Yangshuo / Guilin. Coach back to Guilin. Enjoy or interact with the traditional Chinese musical instruments with a teacher at the Youth Palace. Enjoy free time in the afternoon.

Day 22: Guilin / Hong Kong. Flight to Hong Kong.  Transfer to Hotel Concourse 3* or similar accommodation.

Day 23: Hong Kong: One day tour visit Victoria Peak, Repulse Bay, Aberdeen, Ocean Part with Dim Sum lunch.

Day 24: Hong Kong/Home: After breakfast, transfer to the airport to take the flight, homeward.
